LOVE: SWINGIN' FROM THE HEART!

Presented by Casting New Lives Productions

***THIS PERFORMANCE WAS RE-SCHEDULED from the 12/30/2011 "Swinging in the New Year with Cheryl Bentyne". All tickets that were purchased for the Dec. 30 show will be honored on the Feb. 9, 2012 performance as described below.***

"Love: Swingin' from the Heart!" with Janis Siegel and The Elliot Deutsch Big Band!

Over the past three decades, the voice of Janis Siegel, a nine-time Grammy winner and a seventeen-time Grammy nominee has been an undeniable force in The Manhattan Transfer"s diverse musical catalog. Alongside her career as a member of this 32-year musical institution, Siegel has also sustained a solo career that has spawned more than a half dozen finely-crafted solo albums and numerous collaborative projects, amassed a large international fan base and garnered consistently high critical praise.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1952, Siegel learned about the music business at an early age. By the time she was 12, she was singing with an all-girl pop trio called The Young Generation. By the time she and her bandmates had graduated from high school, they"d released two singles " "The Hideaway" (b/w "Hymn of Love") on Red Bird Records, and "It"s Not Gonna Take Too Long" (b/w "Diggin" You") on Kapp Records.

The Elliot Deutsch Big Band is made up of seventeen of the finest young jazz musicians in the country. This equates to louder fortes, riskier solos, and a high energy that won"t quit.

LA Jazz Scene calls them "The Best New Jazz Orchestra in Southern California".

You won"t want to miss this dynamic and totally entertaining event for the whole family!

GRADY CHAMPION

Presented by Temecula Presents

Grady Champion's high-energy singing and harmonica playing, coupled with a creative update of the traditional blues lament, put him on the national touring blues map, and helped launch his career beyond the boundaries of his native Jackson, Mississippi. Starting his musical career in the early 1990s as a rapper named MC Gold, he changed his style when he discovered the Blues.

Immersing himself in the music of the major blues artists of the past, most notably Sonny Boy Williamson, whom he acknowledges as his greatest influence, Champion eventually became a stylish blues artist of note.

His revved-up, soulful vocalizing, and the charm and insight he brings to his songwriting, mark him as an important new talent.
